A step by step guide on what it takes to build a New Construction Home on Long Island

Step 1
Demolition
After disconnecting all of the utilities and performing inspections, it's time to clear the canvas.
Step 2
Excavation
Time to dig away. Make sure to properly stake the property out by a Licensed Surveyor


Step 3
Foundation
Done in four parts- Footings, Foundation Walls, Waterproofing, & Backfill
Step 4
Framing
When the house starts taking shape. Layout changes can be done easily. Make sure to factor mechanical design and function


Step 5
Windows
Pella, Anderson, or Marvin, make sure you choose the right sizes and if it should be tempered
Step 6
Roof & Siding
Siding, Stone, Stucco, Brick or a Combination?


Step 7
Rough Mechanicals
Electrical, HVAC, & Plumbing, make sure everything is in its proper place and think for the future
Step 8
Insulation & Drywall
The type of insulation, R-Value, and thickness of drywall will all play into the energy efficiency of the home


Step 9
Interior Finshes
This involves; Doors, Flooring, Bathroom Tiles, Trim, Paint, Vanities, Kitchen Cabinets, and everything else. The Electrician, Plumber, and HVAC Contractor all do their final phase and complete the inspections.
Step 10
Punch List & Testing
This is when any touch ups, testing of everything, and any minor items are addressed. Afterwards, the build is fully cleaned and photos are taken


Step 11
Time For You To Enjoy
The final inspections as well as the certificate of occupancy along with the keys is handed over, marking the end of one journey and the start of a new one.
Step 12
Yearly Check Ins
This is when we touch base if everything is as it was expected, to see if any new projects are needed, or anything has to be addressed. Our job isn't complete after handing the keys over, we are there for life.
